DOLPH'S THOUGHTS:
Shot in Bulgaria. Two months before starting the picture I took my Third Dan in karate, that is the third degree black belt, the highest technical degree you can get in my style. I spend a lot of time training in my native country of Sweden and so when I came to Bulgaria to shot the picture, I was obviously in pretty good shape.
There where a lot of good fight scenes in the picture. The director, Isaac Florentine is also a martial artist, he was very keen to try and use as many martial art moves and jumps as possible.
Also in A Bridge of Dragons there was another very big horse that we had to use. In one of the scenes, there is a huge Russian helicopter flying a few hundred yards behind, so he was not easy to handle. In one scene, I ride up to the camera and say one line, turn around and ride underneath this hovering helicopter, a bit scary, either the horse or the chopper will get you.
One of the nicest people who I worked with was my driver, who was this ex Bulgarian army colonel. Excellent driver, the only thing was they gave me a Mercedes 500, which he just could not figure out how to work. There where to many buttons in there, so every time, I had to reach over and start the windshield wipers, open the window or turn on the radio from the back seat. This made me wonder about the Bulgarian army, when this guy was a colonel. How do they handle the new high tech weapons?
